Our
Story
OttieUp emerged from the shared struggles of working mothers—our friends and clients alike. Yet, it all began with one pivotal story that sparked our journey: the story of a dear friend, Lottie. Her bravery and openness in sharing her experiences as a first-time mum returning from maternity leave illuminated the path for countless others like her.
Lottie’s return from maternity leave was a wake-up call, impacting her confidence and causing self-doubt. Mum guilt compounded the struggle, hindering honest conversations about necessary support. With few resources available for the transition back to work and minimal communication from her employer during maternity leave, she felt isolated and uncertain about her future as a working parent.Far too often, working mothers encounter subtle push-out or insufficient efforts to retain them, resulting in stunted careers and talent drain for businesses.
What began as support for a friend has evolved into a mission to rewrite the script for mothers returning to work. We firmly believe that offering tailored support during maternity leave and the return-to-work transition can transform their experiences, fostering confidence and nurturing skills for both professional and personal growth. We are dedicated to empowering and celebrating working mothers, bridging the gap between parents and employers to ensure they navigate with confidence and the unwavering support they deserve.

Kamila Turek
Founder
Hello there, I’m Kamila, a business psychologist who has supported individuals, teams, and businesses at every stage of the employee cycle throughout my career. From recruitment and onboarding to coaching and development, it has always been my personal mission to empower people to align their strengths and purpose with their careers and lead fulfilling lives.
One of the most pivotal moments in my career came when I supported my best friend during her return to work after maternity leave. Witnessing her challenges illuminated the urgent need for robust support systems during such transitions. It sparked the founding of OttieUp to empower and guide mothers navigating the return-to-work journey.
